Ketchup!

Just quick recap: got back to Anderson Fair for the first time in what has to be close to 20 years! I was a squirt of immense twerpitude when I first stepped through those gates to musical paradise in what must have been '75 or '76. A number of us could be found at Harvest Moon Cafe, or any number of places but eventually, you'd want to come to the Fair for its acoustic wonderment.

Toward the end of this just past October, sis and I headed down to Grant to see and hear Ken Gaines, Wayne Wilkerson, Melissa Greener and Tim Walker put on a terrific show of singing and songwriting. Ken, Wayne and Tim are all local legends, but Melissa I'd first heard a couple or three years ago at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, PA. She's a gem.

For those of you who live in Houston or are visiting or planning to visit, support this safe harbor from the ordinary madness of the crowds and spend some time listening to, not merely going to hear, some of the finest song craft around. Sit back, chow on some nachos, sip on a beer and get ready for some awesome (in the truest sense of the word) tale-telling.

If you can't make it, then order the DVD "For the Sake of the Song" here.
